Ancient Kings & Their Legacies ~ Josiah’s Desire & Leader

Josiah is known as a good king. In fact, he is probably the best king to be king after David and Solomon were kings. Josiah is part of bringing reform and restoration to the whole land of Israel. However, it isn’t without help. God is the one who does the heavy lifting and brings the conviction and direction to move Josiah to do what Josiah needs to do, which is the real reason and means behind the reform and restoration of the land.

Josiah put the authority of his life and his kingdom into the hands of another. He put it in the hands of God. Josiah’s authority was not in himself but was external to himself. God’s will God’s way always came first. In this, he also had a deep desire to do this not out of obligation or mandate, but just out of a pure desire to know Him more and live in a relationship with Him.  In this, Josiah will always be known as not only a good king but a great king. The best of the kings.

We learn from His legacy it is important to make sure Jesus is where Jesus should be. At the center of our lives as the subject of our lives.
