The second sermon in our series on the childhood of Jesus, “The Terrible Twos,” focuses on the toddler years of Jesus and challenges us to reflect on our response to the King of kings and Lord of lords. First, we will debunk the many myths surrounding Jesus’ birth as recorded by Matthew, and emphasize the need for truth. We will do this by playing a game called “Fact or Myth Epiphany Edition,” learning more about the facts behind the wise men’s visit and how we have a choice to make between two kings. Herod or Jesus, and how we respond to the news of Jesus, shows us directly who it is we have chosen.
